Artist Bio:

Trude Gunther is a multi-faceted artist based in Jonkershoek, Stellenbosch, Western Cape. Born in 1981 in South Africa, her creative journey has been shaped by a diverse educational background. She holds a B.Drama (2010), a BA Fine Arts (with distinction) (2020), and a BA Honours in Visual Arts Illustration (cum laude) (2022), all from Stellenbosch University.

Trude's work is a testament to her deep exploration of desires and the profound impact of their absence. Through her work, Trude delves into the interplay between absence, obsession, and the macabre within the realm of desire, often framed by themes of loneliness, solitude, and the truth of despair.

Beyond her role as a visual artist, Trude wears many hats in life. She is a performing artist, a voice artist, and an accomplished illustrator.
