Malose Pete was born in 1989 in Polokwane, Limpopo and grew up in Ga-Mahoai. Although his primary school did not have art facilities, Malose realised his artistic capabilities through making class illustrations of plant and animal structures for his teachers.

Malose's work has featured in numerous exhibitions and competitions, including the Sasol New Signatures Competition (2011), and the ABSA L'Atalier Art Competition (2011). In 2018, Pete was also part of the Polokwane regional judging panel for the Sasol New Signatures national art competition.
Malose Pete is currently a part-time lecturer at the Fine and Applied Arts Department of the Tshwane University of Technology.
