Collection: Heike Allerton-Davies

Heike completed a 1 year foundation course in Art and Design at the East London Technical College before doing an honours degree in painting at the Michaelis School of Art at UCT. After which she completed her Masters degree in Visual Arts at the University of Stellenbosch in 2018.

"My work has always been consumed with the female body and the stories and histories carried in this body. I live in an area where the trauma of our violent history can be seen in the women I encounter every day. I do not claim to be their voice - I only wish to acknowledge them and affirm that I see them."
